Welcome to our new blog! We set this up to keep our guests and prospective people looking for a great bed and breakfast informed on what we are up to and various events and activities in the Newburgh, NY area. Please continue to check back for more as we will be adding to this blog periodically.
If you don’t already know, the Stockbridge Ramsdell House is a bed and breakfast with multiple guest rooms in Orange County on the Hudson River. The house is a graceful Queen Anne Victorian built in 1870 as the family home of Homer Stockbridge Ramsdell. Located 55 miles from Manhattan we are perfectly located close enough to take a nice day trip in the city, but avoid all of the noise and distractions of a metro hotel. Many people on family vacation love to take advantage of this dynamic. If you’re looking to stay in the Hudson Valley area, Newburgh has a lot to offer as well. We are within walking distance of the Newburgh Marina which features different restaurants, a spa, wine shop, and independent movie theater. Not far from West Point, many guests enjoy taking time to visit this area also and see the wonderful academy.
Quilting retreats are held on a regular basis at our B&B. You still have three more chances to take part with retreats in September, November and December still remaining. The light-filled, air-conditioned workroom accommodates up to 10 quilters, and Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch are included in the weekend rate of $235/person/double occupancy plus tax. We encourage you to take a look at one of these chances to meet other quilters who share the same passion. Exchange techniques, ideas and build friendships. Many people come back and in fact we offer 50% off on your third retreat with us.
