The Privateer Lynx and Antique Show

As we approach fall there’s still plenty of things to do and visit in Newburgh. At the end of the month a unique opportunity will be passing by our city in the form of an early 1800s clipper ship, The Privateer Lynx.

“The creation of Lynx embraces eternal truths: passion, sacrifice, perseverance, honor and courage. All of these emotions gave her a soul long before she tasted her first saltwater. At sea, Lynx is the legacy of her creators: the thinkers, the designers, the builders, and most important, the dreamers…“

The Lynx travels across Connecticut, New York along the Hudson and will make a stop in Newburgh from October 18-21.  You can take a tour of the ship or even go out on a sail away trip for a short time.

“Climb aboard and step back in time as you relive history and feel the adventure. Join the crew and hoist the sails, steer the ship, fire the main battery of six-pounder carronades and experience first hand life aboard a traditional, square topsail schooner. Get ready to rumble as you and your kids take part in this unique, interactive sailing adventure. On decks and below Lynx evokes the life, spirit, and atmosphere of a vanished age of sail”

There will also be an antiques & collectibles flea market at the end of the weekend on Sunday the 21st at Unico Park.  The park is located just four tenths of a mile away from our bed and breakfast and is a quick 7 minute walk along the river.  If you need a place to stay, we are close, comfortable and convenient.  Stay with us and enjoy the whole weekend.  For more information on the Lynx and their foundation, click here.
