Visiting Orange County In The Fall

November 12th, 2012 | Posted by stockbridgeramsdell

Only a few weeks remain to visit Orange County and experience the wonderful scenery the area provides during the fall months.  Soon, the leaves on the ground will exchange with snow and it will be too cold to head outdoors.  Instead, people will choose to warm up in a cozy house or by a warm fire once the winter months arrive. Autumn in the Hudson Valley and Orange County remains one of the best chances throughout the year to come and visit.

“Autumn escapes are delightful in Orange County, just 50 miles from the lights of Broadway. Copper and red leaves are the backdrop to world famous destinations like West Point, Storm King Art Center, and Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. Ahh….the wineries, the culinary chef restaurants, the cruises on the Hudson River. Could fall be more perfect?” Writes orangecountytourism.org.

You can visit seven wineries and two brewing companies, Newburgh Brewing Company and Rushing Duck, as well as take guided wine tours with The Little Wine Bus. Every day, events take place and on the weekends, you can experience a variety of activities and attractions throughout the entire county.  Stay with us at the Stockbridge Ramsdell House in Newburgh and hop from place to place all within a short drive of each other.

Whether you want to travel the Hudson on an old Mississippi River cruise on the scenic river, do some shopping, or experience great food and wine, the Hudson Valley has something for everyone to enjoy during a nice weekend getaway.
